Learn the tricks of successful underwater pumpkin carving while maintaining proper buoyancy and improving your diving skills.   The Underwater Pumpkin Carving distinctive specialty course with Karen Erickson is open to all divers with a (junior) Scuba Diver certification or higher. This specialty is taught at the lake where you will learn the necessary skills for creating your masterpiece as well as proper buoyancy skills while holding a positively buoyant object, proper weighting, and the safe use of tools underwater. 

The Underwater Pumpkin Carving Specialty course is $75,  which includes a tank, course instruction, and certification card, along with free entry into the Dive World Austin pumpkin carving contest. You are required to provide your own Pumpkin, Pumpkin carving kit or blunt tip dive knife (no pointed tips please!), mesh bag big enough to hold your pumpkin, weights (extra to sink your pumpkin), BCD, regulator, mask, fins, snorkel, and boots! The entrance fee to Windy Point Scuba park is NOT included. Participants must register in advance. 

NOTE: You do not have to register for the contest in addition to this class unless you want to carve and enter a second pumpkin.
